Though it’s hard to tell exactly what makes something go viral, it’s clear from the number of pro-Kony posts that the issue was prominent, though not exclusively, on Tumblr. When enough people repost on a single issue, it gains momentum, and that’s all it needs to go viral. Soon, Kony 2012 seemed to be the only thing on our generation’s collective consciousness.
